(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Riverton City Council tonight will recognize the retirement of the Riverton Police Department’s Victim Witness Coordinator, Carroll Westlake, at it’s first regular meeting of September. The meeting begins at 6:45 with a pre session with the agenda to begin at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at City Hall.
Other items up for consideration tonight include a fireworks public hearing to allow Riverton High School to shoot off fireworks at Wolverine Field following RHS scores this fall season and a replat of lots 1 and 2 of the Woodridge Estates Subdivision.
The council will be asked to approve a bid for a new airport snowplow truck from Jack’s Truck and Equipment in the amount of $240,426. In a memo from Paul Griffin at Riverton Regional Airport, it was noted that the Federal Aviation Administration requires the airport to remove snow in 1.5 hours. With only one truck, the large snow blower has to be switched out with a blade. Griffin also said the airport has to borrow other city trucks when maintenance is needed during the summer at the airport.
The new truck was budgeted for this fiscal year, and the bid came in under the budget line item by about $37,000.
A review of the “Revitalized Riverton” plan for city park will also come up for discussion at tonight’s meeting. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting or tune in to Cable Channel 11 to watch the proceedings.
