(Riverton, Wyo.) – Riverton City Administrator Steven Weaver had his job performance for his second year on the job evaluated by the city council Tuesday night in a special session facilitated by Central Wyoming College. After some three hours behind closed doors in an executive session, Weaver said he was invited in to learn that the evaluation went well. “There are always a few things I can improve on, and I’ll work on those this year,” he said Wednesday morning from his office at City Hall.
Weaver said each city council member was given a form with numerous evaluation criteria to fill out. The forms were collected in advance of the meeting and the facilitator tabulated the results, which the council then debated.
After the formal evaluation had ended, the council reconvened into regular session and approved a 2.5 percent merit raise for Weaver along with a 2.5 percent insurance contribution. “It was the basic package for city employees,” he said. With the salary adjustment, Weaver’s annual salary is now $106,374.
The evaluation of Weaver was the only item on the agenda for Tuesday night’s special meeting.
