(Riverton, Wyo.) – A “Summer Bash” will be held at Riverton City Park’s band shell tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 17th, from noon until 9 p.m.
The event is being sponsored by the Northern Arapaho Tribal Meth and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI) and is being promoted as “Bringing Cultures Together.”
At Friday’s Fremont County Suicide Prevention Task Force meeting, MSPI Director Elk Sage said the event “is being tried out to see if it will work. If it goes good, then we’ll continue it.” He said the event will feature drug-free and sober role models for youth. “We have a very diverse community here, and we want to get together and just have some fun,” he said. “Bring your singing voice. I’d love to hear a tune.”
The Summer Bash will feature an open mic from noon to sunset. Sage said all forms of music and groups are welcome to participate. He also noted that is will be a drug and alcohol free family oriented event.
