(Lander, Wyo.) – Today’s law enforcement roundup from across Fremont County

Riverton Fire Department

Fire Chief Mike Hutchison said eight firefighters and two pieces of apparatus responded to 64 Cheyenne Avenue Sunday night at 5:07 p.m. where a mobile home was reported on fire. Hutchison said a woman inside the home smelled smoke and discovered flames coming from the area of the home’s water heater. She immediately called 911 and evacuated the home. The fire heavily damaged one bedroom in the home and caused smoke damage throughout. There were no injuries and the fire department was able to extinguish the blaze quickly before it spread. “The home was not totaled, it should be able to be repaired,” he said. A fire investigator has not yet determined the cause of the blaze.
