Yellowstone’s East Entrance West of Cody opened Friday morning as scheduled
(Yellowstone National Park, Wyo.) – National Park Service employee Dennis Lenzendorf officially opened the gate to the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park for the season at 8:00 a.m.on Friday morning, May 3.
Visitors are now able to travel through the park’s East, West, and North Entrances to many popular park destinations including Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Norris Geyser Basin, and Fishing Bridge.
Fundraising by the communities of Cody and Jackson, Wyoming, allowed Wyoming Department of Transportation crews to assist the National Park Service with spring snow removal. This allowed East Entrance to open Friday, May 3 as originally scheduled, andweather permitting will allow the South Entrance open on as originally scheduled on Friday, May 10.
