(Riverton, Wyo.) – The Riverton City Council has planned a dual meeting Tuesday night, a work session beginning at 6 p.m. and its regular meeting at 7.
The 6 p.m. work session include a discussion on the city’s draft budget for 2013-14 Fiscal Year as it pertains to the council’s stated goals, and the councilors will discuss third party requests for the next budget, those from community service agencies.
The regular meeting agenda includes a presentation on the Volunteers of America, the organization now investigating a merger with the Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center. Daycare center license renewals for the next year are also to be considered, along with selection of a consultant to assist with a technology upgrade for the city’s water treatment plant and various well sites.
A proposal to purchase an easement for extension of the Riverwalk to South Federal Boulevard is up for review and action as is a plat for the Regal Subdivision, located in the county but within the one mile radius of the city.
Councilors will also be asked to approve a resolution to present to the Wyoming Association of Municipalities when it meets in Riverton this June that would allow individual cities and towns to tax themselves for one percent optional tax issues, rather than have individual city requests voted on a countywide ballot.
A presentation on the Children’s Advocacy Project that was postponed last week has been rescheduled for tonight. The CAP is proposing to expand into Riverton with a satellite office. Presently, all children who are victims of abuse must be transported to Casper to receive services there.
The meeting is open to the public. Again tonight’s meeting begins one hour earlier with a work session set for 6 p.m. at Riverton City Hall.
