Police Blotter: Arrests; Another school bus fly-by reported; Man threatened with hatchet; Woman bitten by dog in Riverton

(Lander, Wyo.) – Friday’s law enforcement recap from across Fremont County.

Fremont County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests:

Lyle Haukaas, 34, Hudson, Failure to Appear Warrant.

Dillon Siebeck, 34, Riverton, Probation Revocation.

Adam Trujillo, 35, Riverton, Driving Under the Influence, Open Container and Interference with Police.

Calls:

At 7:44 a.m. on Thursday, deputies were called to Highway 789 in Shoshoni for a report of a Range Rover that in passing a school bus saw a Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper and went into the borrow ditch.

At 9:34 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to a report of a fight on the 500 block of Wood Street. The caller said three or four men were kicking and punching each other. There were reportedly women watching.

At 9:43 a.m., deputies were called about an individual in Arapahoe who was shooting at the caller’s cows and threatening him. The Wind River Police Department handled the call.

At 5:22 p.m. on Thursday, deputies were called to Brooks Road in Riverton for a report of a person chasing a couple people with a hatchet. The caller had heard about it from someone else. Sheriff’s Capt. Ryan Lee said a subject threatened someone with a hatchet, but the use of the weapon was only threatened and not used. Lee said charges in the incident are pending.

At 11:48 p.m., deputies were called about a blue Ford F250 that was driving on the wrong side of the road on Highway 789 near Hudson, heading toward Riverton. Police were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

Lander Police Department

Arrests:

Keller Duran, 20, Ethete, for LPD Failure to Appear Warrant, Minor in Possession and Interference.

Albert Tillman, 42, Lander, Assault and Battery and Possession of Marijuana. Tillman was arrested at 12:02 a.m. on Friday following a report of a family fight on Washakie Street.

Riverton Police Department

Police responded to the Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center at 12:59 p.m Thursday on a report of someone taken to the detox center was found to be in possession of marijuana. The report is under investigation.

A theft at Riverton High School was reported to the School Resource Officer there at 2:38 p.m. Thursday. No other information was available.

A reporting party said he was chased by three aggressive dogs Thursday afternoon on Apache Avenue at 5:02 p.m. The man was able to escape unharmed. The matter was given to the city’s Animal Control officer to investigate.

A dog that was found to be injured in the area of Blackfoot and Comanche  avenues Thursday evening at 5 p.m. was taken to a veterinarian for treatment.

A verbal family fight with alcohol involvement was reported at 5:43 p.m.  in the 2600 block of East Monroe. There were no arrests or citations issues.

The RPD provided some information to a reporting party who came to the police department wanting to know how to solve some sibling rivalry issues.

A woman reported to police that she had been bitten on a finger when she tried to feed a dog a cookie in the 300 block of East Lincoln. The woman was treated at the Community Health Center and the Animal Control officer was notified for a follow-up investigation.

Seventeen of the RPDs 46 calls for service on Thursday were for reports of intoxicated individuals.
