Police Blotter: Arrests; One vehicle rollover sends Riverton man to Lander hospital; Drunk driver caught after crashing through fence

(Lander, Wyo.) – Tuesday’s law enforcement recap from across Fremont County.

Wyoming Highway Patrol

A 46-year-old Riverton man received non-life threatening injuries early today in a one vehicle rollover three miles north of Lander on Highway 789. According to State Trooper Dave Hockett, motorist Glen Smith was traveling toward Lander at 7:55 a.m. when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel. His 1996 Oldsmobile traveled across the oncoming lanes of traffic and into the barrow ditch. The passenger side front wheel was torn off of the vehicle when the car impacted a driveway culvert. At that point, Hockett said Smith’s vehicle vaulted 85 feet down the ditch, rolled and came to rest on its side. Smith was wearing a seat belt and air bags were deployed and he remained in the vehicle. He was taken to the Lander Regional Hospital for treatment of possible broken ribs, cuts and abrasions.
