Fremont County rugby action returns next Saturday, March 23rd in Riverton as the Speedgoats play host to the Casper Cannibals.
“We’re excited to have the opening match of the Spring season be here in Riverton,” said Jason Kintzler, “The guys are excited to shake the winter rust off and take it to the Cannibals.”

The Speedgoats RFC, the region’s first ever rugby club, was formed in 2010 and played host to the first State Rugby Championship Cup that same year.

The men’s squad is always recruiting new players – athletes from all walks of life – from former football and soccer players, to runers and wrestlers.
“It’s a great way to stay competitive and keep in shape,” explained Andy Strike, who plays flanker for the team.

Spring 2013 Practices are held Tuesday Nights at 5:45 at Riverton High School (field across from the hospital) and Thursday Nights at 5:45 in Lander at the Gannett Peak Elementary.

Next Saturday’s game location hasn’t been locked-down, but it will likely be held at either the Riverton High School practice field across from the hospital or at Rein Park in Riverton.
