(Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont County Sheriff’s Capt. Ryan Lee said both the Lander and Riverton Search & Rescue teams have been mobilized in the search for two missing Riverton men.

Lee said authorities were notified at about 11 p.m. on Friday by family members who said the two were planning on an afternoon/day drive in the South Pass area and never returned. It is unclear where in the South Pass area the men might have traveled.

The men were said to be traveling in a white 2011 Toyota Tundra, Lee said this afternoon. Both are in their 50s.

As of 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Lee said S&R had an aircraft in the air earlier in the day but had to ground it due to weather. Several crews remained on the ground.

The S&R teams have been focusing on vehicle-accessible roads, as it is believed the pair were just out for a drive. “Most of the roads are snowed in,” Lee said.

“We’re looking for them,” he added. “We’re doing all we can.”
