Shamrock Shindig coming March 16th to benefit Lander Community Center building fund

(Lander, Wyo,) – The Rotary Club of Lander is hosting “Lander’s Shamrock Shindig 2013,” a community-wide celebration that will support rebuilding the Lander Community Center and other Rotary service projects. The Shamrock Shindig will be held from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Peaks Conference Center at the Best Western Inn at Lander.
“Once again, we will be hosting a really fun event on St. Patrick’s Day weekend that will also help raise money to rebuild a Lander landmark,” said club president and Fremont County Sheriff Skip Hornecker. “One of Lander’s greatest strengths is the generous spirit of so many in our community who have stepped up to donate auction items, help sponsor the event and have given of their time to make this possible. Lander has much to celebrate at this event, and we are happy to be part of this important community effort.”
Among the highlights of the Shindig, the Johnsons, a Lander-based band, will be performing. Appetizers and a catered dinner will be served, and a full bar will be available. A live auction will feature extraordinary items, including a week’s stay at an ocean-front condominium in Honduras, ski trips and a pasta making class/dinner at the Middle Fork restaurant.
The full event early-bird ticket price is $45 and includes appetizers, the dinner catered by Cooking Crow Catering, two beer and wine tickets, live music, entertainment and one ticket for the Shamrock Raffle. Event organizers encourage people who may not be able to attend the Shindig party to support the effort by purchasing raffle tickets for $20. The grand prize of the “Shamrock Raffle” is a $1,500 travel voucher for a trip for two to Ireland. Second prize is a hunting rifle. Other prizes include varying amounts of cash.
