(Arapahoe, Wyo.) – Fremont County School District 38 Superintendent Jonathan Braack has tendered his resignation effective at the end of this fiscal year, June 30.
Braack came to the district a little over a year ago, in January 2012. Since then, the K-8 students in FCSD38 made Adequate Yearly Progress for the first time in years.
In a brief interview on Monday, Braack said he tendered his resignation to the Board of Education on Feb. 5. Last Friday, he said the board approved advertising to fill the seat.
While he wouldn’t discuss all the factors that went into his resignation, Braack said he and his wife felt it was time to move on. “My integrity is intact,” he said.
There are “circumstances that I can’t discuss publicly,” he noted.
“My plans for now are to just stay focused on the district,” he continued, adding he wants to be able to leave FCSD38 in a sustainable growth system to help the next superintendent. “It’s business as usual for me until June 30.”
Braack stressed his excitement for the work of the student and the teachers over the last year.
“At the district level, things are going extremely well,” Braack said.
