(Dubois, Wyo.) – Central Wyoming College, FCSD #2 Adult Education and the Never Sweat Recreation Board hosted an open house Thursday evening to celebrate the retirement of Michele Burdick, CWC Dubois Outreach coordinator. Held at the Headwaters Arts and Conference Center, approximately 60 community members gathered to honor Burdick for her work spanning more than 26 years.
In addition to Ms. Burdick’s duties as part time CWC Dubois Outreach Coordinator, the Neversweat Recreation Board contracted with CWC for her services to administer the Rec Board’s funds and coordinate meetings, and the Rec Board contracted her to run a summer activities program in a part time position for the college.
During her tenure as coordinator, Burdick also volunteered for many Dubois organizations including We Do Events, Kiwanis, 4-H, was director of the Dubois Sled Dog Races and worked as a Realtor for Bert Milton Realty, a position she intends to devote more time to now that she is “retired”. When not working or volunteering, Burdick hopes to increase the amount of time spent enjoying tennis, downhill skiing, riding her horse and plans on “traveling a bit more”.
New CWC Dubois Outreach Coordinator Casey Sedlack was introduced at the celebration as well. Sedlack will hold one full time position whose duties will include CWC Dubois Outreach Coordinator, running the Dubois summer activity programs, and serve as administrator for the Never Sweat Recreation Board.
