(Dubois, Wyo.) – The Dubois Friends of the Library opened a new venture in Dubois yesterday called ‘The Parlor’. Located at the corner of First Street and Ramshorn next to the Nostalgia Bistro, the space is intended to be a place to visit and hold a conversation, read a book, or take one home for a small donation, hold a meeting, use your laptop or mobile device via their wi-fi hotspot location, or just relax. Coffee and tea are available for a donation. The endeavor is an all volunteer grass roots program supported by the community.
The Parlor is open Wednesday through Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Dubois Friends of the Library has held monthly book fairs in past years to support the branch library at the library facility and found a need to expand the event due to the overwhelming number of books donated. The Parlor will allow Dubois residents and visitors the ability to read and take home books for a donation and fills a recently empty storefront in the downtown.
The large space is broken into a number of smaller seating areas, surrounded by books. (June Bonasera photo)
