CWC Women & Men sweep Little Big Horn; Northwest at home Wednesday, Casper on Saturday

(Riverton, Wyo.) – It was a successful weekend for Central Wyoming College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams:

Lady Rustlers handle Little Big Horn

The Lady Rustlers took care of business at home vs. Little Big Horn on Saturday night in the first game of a double header at Rustler Gym. The lady Rustlers took a 42-37 halftime lead and never looked back, pushing the lead to as many as 18 in the second half and winning 82-64. The lady Rustlers were led by Marrisa Hogan’s (24 points and 4 assists) and Tina Hosea’s (15 points and 5 assists). The Lady Rustlers are in action this week at home vs. Northwest on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and host Casper College Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Rustlers capture win over Little Big Horn

Central Wyoming’s Rustlers Men’s basketball team started fast and never looked back, taking a 49-27 halftime lead in the second game Saturday night.  The Rustlers pushed the lead to as many as 27 in the second half before holding on to claim a 86-74 victory. The win moved CWC into first place with Sheridan College in Region IX standings. The Rustlers were led by Tanner Newbold’s (16 points) and Roozario Wiggins (15 points and 8 rebounds). The Rustlers are in action this week at home vs. Northwest College of Powell on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and host Casper College Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
