County Commission to discuss decals, counseling mergers and more in tomorrow’s meeting

The Fremont County Commission approved the above logo yesterday for all county vehicles. At the bottom, the logo should either say "Government" or the department's name.

(Lander, Wyo.) – Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan and the Fremont County Commission tomorrow will once again address the issue regarding identifying decals on coroner’s vehicles.

On the Commission’s agenda for tomorrow under old business is “Coroner compromise regarding vehicle decals.” The commission requires Fremont County decals on all vehicles owned by the county. The Coroner has argued to not have have them on his office’s vehicles due to the sensitive nature of the job.

The agenda item isn’t schedule to take place until after 3 p.m.

The commission’s meeting begins at 9 a.m. tomorrow in its chambers in the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander.

At 10:30 a.m. there will be a discussion about a possible merger between Fremont Counseling and the Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center.

At 11:45 a.m., a public hearing will be held about High Plains Utility’s CDBG grant application for the Highway 789 water line looping project.

At 1:30 p.m., there will be a discussion regarding the differenses between Youth Services, Juvenile Treatment Court, Court Appointed Supervised Treatment and Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiates Programs.

Also on tomorrow’s agenda are a transportation department report, a wreck report from Transportation Superintendent Glen Steers, a personnel update from Fremont County Attorney Brian Varn, a discussion about a proposed “Life Are You Ready?” program, and an update on disease management and wellness programs.
