Community Feast and Round Dance set Saturday at Fort Washakie

Screen Shot 2013-01-25 at 12.36.34 PM(Fort Washakie, Wyo.) – The Northern Arapaho Methamphetamine and Suicide Prevention Initiative (MSPI), the Shoshone and Arapaho Tobacco Prevention and the Eastern Shoshone Suicide Prevention Programs are sponsoring a Community Round Dance on Saturday evening at the Eastern Shoshone Boys & Girls Club at Fort Washakie.

MSPI coordinator Elk Sage said the event will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. and includes awareness information and a community feast.

Sage said positive messaging for the community will be shared to raise awareness of prevention initiatives active on the Wind River Reservation. He said the Round Dance, an Intertribal, is open to everyone.

    Great initiative to use a cultural historical way to address a modern issue, wish I could go.
