snow report(Casper, Wyo.) – This is the fifth Snow Report for the 2012-2013 snow season from the Wyoming Natural Resources Conservation Service. The report was issued on Dec. 31.(Note: All the 1981-2010 30 yr averages and medians have not yet been completed for all the southeastern basins. Averages and medians have not yet been completed for all the southeastern basins.) Last year about this time the state median was 103% with a low of 68% and a high of 142% of median.  This year the state median is 84% with a low of 30% and a high of 113% of median.  The map below may differ slightly from the table depending upon how many stations were reporting at the time or date.

Figure 1 — SNOW WATER EQUIVALENT AS PERCENT OF MEDIAN.  The following table shows the current, last year’s ending weeks and 2011 equivalent (SWE) amounts for Wyoming basins.  Median is based on all reporting SNOTEL sites in the basin, not the snow courses.  The reference period for average comparison is 1981-2010.
