Several local governments reschedule meetings due to New Year’s Day

(Fremont County, Wyo.) – Several Fremont County governing bodies will not be meeting as usual in observance of New Year’s Day.
The Fremont County Commission, Riverton City Council and Lander City Council have cancelled regular Tuesday meetings, and all three are scheduled to be back at work on Jan. 8.
The Commissioners will actually resume a day earlier. Administrative Secretary Becky Enos said new commissioners Stephanie Kessler and Larry Allen, along with returning commissioner Doug Thompson, will be sworn in at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7. The ceremony will take place in the commission’s chambers at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander.
The next regular Commission meeting will begin at 9 a.m. on Jan. 8. The agenda has not yet been released.
The Riverton City Council’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Riverton City Hall. Agenda items were not yet available.
Lander City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 8 at Lander City Hall. A full agenda has not yet been released, but a presentation on early plans for the Lander Community Center will be made at the end. There will be time for members of the public to discuss the project with steering committee members and members of the architectural team following the presentation.
