(Riverton, Wyo.) – The City of Riverton received a financial boost from Encana Natural Gas at last week’s end-of-the-year city council meeting. Encana’s John Schmidt of Riverton presented the city with a check for $12,000 to support the city’s pilot program to begin using compressed natural gas powered vehicles in its fleet.

“Half of Encana fleet here is now converted, and as we order new trucks we continue to convert them,” Schmidt said in remarks before the council. “This check will help your pilot program get started with your first conversion.”

Mayor Ron Warpness thanked Schmidt and Encana for the donation. “We appreciate your support. It makes sense with natural gas being produced here, and we want to participate.”

Riverton’s South Federal Bailey’s Pit Stop is the only CNG fueling stop in Fremont County at the present time.
