Snow possible in area by Wednesday; Another system predicted to move through on Friday

(Riverton, Wyo.) –  There is a change in the weather coming, according to the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Riverton. The next signifiant weather system will occur with a cold airmass that will move into the Northern Rockies by mid week, bringing some rain and snow to mainly the north and central parts of the Cowboy State. Snowfalls of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the higher elevetions of the Absaroka and Big Horn Mountains. Another disturbance will move through the area on Friday, bringing another chance for a rain and snow event.
THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING.

TUESDAY…A COMBINATION OF WARM TEMPERATURES…GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY COULD BRING ELEVATED FIRE MUCH OF WYOMING FROM MIDDAY TUESDAY THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING.

A BIG CHANGE IN THE WEATHER IS STILL ON TRACK FOR WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL PLUNGE SOUTH THROUGH THE STATE WEDNESDAY AND WILL BE THROUGH THE SOUTH EARLY WEDNESDAY EVENING. RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW WILL OCCUR OVER THE NORTH WEDNESDAY. THIS PRECIPITATION WILL MOVE INTO CENTRAL WYOMING WEDNESDAY NIGHT. RAIN WOULD CHANGE TO SNOW FROM CODY TO KAYCEE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. RAIN WOULD CHANGE TO SNOW FROM LANDER TO CASPER BY WEDNESDAY EVENING
IF THE CURRENT FORECAST TIMING HOLDS.

THOSE WITH OUTDOOR INTERESTS WEDNESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY SHOULD STAY UPDATED ON THIS CHANGE TO COLDER AND WETTER WEATHER.

ANOTHER WEATHER SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE REGION FRIDAY AND DEPART EARLY SATURDAY. THIS WILL BRING ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN AND SNOW WITH MORE COLD AIR.
