Eagles, Chiefs, Lady Chiefs, Wind River Cougars advance at State, Lady Blue falls to Tongue River

(Casper) — The St. Stephen’s Eagles advanced to the state Class 1A semi-finals with an eight point victory, 64-56 over Lingle Fort Laramie at the Wyoming State  High School Basketball Championships at Casper. The Eagles will face Burlington at 9 p.m. at Casper College.

Riverton Police DepartmentA half-dozen arrests were reported in the 24 hour period that ended at 7 a.m. Thursday, according to Captain C. T. Smith. Those arrested were: Benjamine Gardner, 34, Riverton, municipal warrant; Clowry Means, 45, Riverton, public intoxication; John Chavez, 29, Riverton, public intoxication; Sterling Howell, 35, Riverton, interfering with an arrest; Meldonna Hill, 26, Riverton, disturbing the peace; Kodie Husday, 25, Riverton, disturbing the peace.
Captain C.T. Smith reported several traffic crashes were reported Wednesday, including a hit and run incident that occurred at East Monroe and South Federal Boulevard where a vehicle ran a red light, hit a vehicle in the intersection, then fled the scene. The incident is under investigation. Police also responded to eight alcohol-related problems Wednesday and were called to a motel where someone had kicked in a door.
