Blacksmith shop moved to the Pioneer Village in Lander

The old blacksmith's cabin from the Hornecker Ranch south of Lander was being moved to the Pioneer Village site Monday.
(Lander) — The old blacksmith shop that was on the old Hornecker place out Sinks Canyon now has a new home. The log structure was moved on Monday to the Museum of the American West’s Pioneer Village in Lander. The shop has been placed next to the Livery Stable there, and will be restored and become the latest attraction at the Village. The blacksmith shop is another building from the early period of Lander’s settlement moved to the Pioneer Village. The Lander Rotary Club has made restoration of the structure it’s President’s Project for 2012. The club previously assisted in the restoration of the Stough House, which also rests in the Pioneer Village. Restoration work on the Blacksmith shop will begin this spring.

Happy to help as a Blacksmith with some old stuff, Rotary can contact me.
If this is the shop that was located where the old Phillips 66 station was (the old Breadboard) then it was my great grandfather's shop (E.F.Cheney). He came down from Atlantic City in the early 1870's where also blacksmithed, carpentered and read law.
We at the Double A Ranch are happy that the old blacksmith cabin we donated to the Pioneer Museum has found a new home.
