(Shoshoni) – A 42-year-old Thermopolis resident died in a single vehicle rollover between Shoshoni and the Boysen Reservoir early Friday. The crash was reported at 8:45 a.m. The victim was identified by Fremont County Coroner Ed McAuslan as Henry Paul Gomendi. Fremont County Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Lee of Riverton said Gomendi’s vehicle was southbound toward Riverton and the crash occurred just east of the causeway over Boysen Reservoir. Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Wyoming Highway Patrol with traffic control at the scene, which closed Highway 789 until 11:18 .m. The Wyoming Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
McAuslan said the Gomendi died at the scene of blunt force trauma received in the crash. Gomendi was wearing a seat belt.
