Wyoming Public Radio News Director Bob Beck presented the Amy Wroe Bechtel scholarship to Maggie Ochsner in Laramie.
Receiving the Amy Wroe Bechtel Cross Country/Track and Field Scholarship this past week at half-time of a Cowgirls basketball game at the University of Wyoming was Maggie Ochsner, Women’s Track & Field. Ochsner, from Lingle, Wyo., runs the hurdles for the Cowgirls. The scholarship was presented by Wyoming Public Media’s Bob Beck, news director at KUWR, Wyoming Public Radio.
The scholarship is presented to honor the memory of former UW runner Amy Wroe Bechtel, who went missing on the Loop Road south of Lander on July 24, 1997, while training for a race. No trace of the then 24-year-old Lander woman has been found, but the investigation into the case remains open.
