Gov. Matt Mead made a surprise visit to the Fremont County Republican Women's monthly meeting in Riverton Monday.
(Riverton) – Wyoming’s governor, Matt Mead, made a suprise visit to the regular meeting of the Fremont County Republican Women on Monday. Accompanying him was state Senator Eli Bebout from Riverton. Pizza Plus in Riverton is the meeting location every first Monday of each month and the postcard announcing the meeting happened to be in a stack of mail that Governor Mead was sorting at home in Cheyenne. Mead already had a meeting scheduled at CWC for the morning so decided to have lunch with the ladies.
He spoke with those in attendance, giving a brief review of his “State of the State” address to be made next week. Mead said that Wyoming’s income from our energy resources will be lower than anticipated but we are still in very good financial shape. Talked about his wife and children and how they have done this past year as our ‘first” family. He also said he ls so proud to be serving Wyoming and enjoys that feeling when visiting with other governors from around the country.

(Riverton) – The Republican Women of Fremont County Political Action Committee will be holding its annual Republican FUNdraiser Saturday March 31 at the Lander Community Center. Happy Hour begins at 6:30 p.m. with Mr. D’s catering a Prime Rib dinner starting at 7:00 p.m.
This year’s speaker will be Harriet Hageman, the lead attorney for the State of Wyoming in protecting its share of the North Platte River. She also fought the USDA to protect Wyoming’s access to national forest lands. She successfully defended Wyoming’s Open Range Law and continues to be actively engaged in defending the rights of Wyoming Citizens.
