Community education offerings in Lander in March
Introduction to Stock Trading
Participants in a Introduction to Stock Trading course, offered Tuesdays from March 6-20 at the CWC Lander Center, learn how the stock market works for both business and traders, and research and trade stock online through a trading simulation program. The class meets 6-8 p.m. and the cost is $30.
Lamaze Childbirth Education
Lamaze childbirth is the subject of a CWC course offered Mondays March 19-April 23 at the Public Health Suite at the Fremont County Courthouse in Lander. Instructor Jan Hubenka, a certified public health nurse, helps expectant parents to make informed choices about their birth experience. The class, which meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m., is $10 plus $20 for the Lamaze book, “Giving Birth with Confidence.”
Conversational Spanish
CWC’s community education program gives you the opportunity to brush up on the Spanish language. The class meets on Thursdays at the CWC Lander Center from March 19-May 3 (no class on April 5) from 6-7:30 p.m. the fee is $50.
Introduction to Computers and Windows 7
Connie Murray teaches the basics of computers and the Windows operating system in this CWC introductory class that is offered Tuesday and Thursday, March 6 and 8, 6-8 p.m. at the Fort Washakie Learning Center and again on Saturday, April 21 at the CWC Lander Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The course fee is $45.
EXCEL
Beynon St. John is the instructor for a pair of short courses introducing students to spreadsheets. The first course is offered on Tuesday and Thursdays, March 20 and 22, 6-9 p.m. at the Fort Washakie Learning Center and the second is offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 27-28 at the CWC Lander Center from 6-9 p.m. Using Excel, students learn to solve simple business and accounting problems as well as how to use and edit formulas and functions to create their own account work sheets. The cost of the course is $60.
