(Cheyenne) – A dispute between Dish Network (DISH) and the ABC and Fox affiliates in Casper and Cheyenne, and the CBS affiliate in Casper over the price DISH pays them to rebroadcast local channels has left some Wyoming consumers unable to receive those channels.
The Attorney General’s Office has reviewed the matter and found it to be a legitimate business dispute. The Attorney General’s Office is encouraging all parties to resolve this dispute quickly because consumers rely on local channels for their news, weather, politics, and network programming. Without access to this programming, consumers are somewhat disconnected from their communities.
While negotiations continue, DISH customers may be able to access local channels through an over-the-air antenna. The use of an over-the-air antenna is not an ideal solution to this problem as there are some areas of the state where an antenna may not pick up these channels.
